I worked my first week of night shift last week, and I made it through surprisingly well! I work at UPS from 10pm to 6:30am, sleep when I get home, then I'm up for the evening before work. And I've got to say... I feel great!! Isn't that bizarre? I know it's only been a week, and I'm giving it a few weeks before I give a more informed opinion, but this night shift thing is working for me! I think it's because I can sleep any time of day, so sleeping during the day is not difficult for me. Some of my co-workers are having a tough time with it, but it could partly be because they have kids, or they are in school and taking classes, etc. Anyway, I'm enjoying it so far. And I have weekends off, so I don't miss anything then! :)
In other news, my poor baby cat has a bladder infection. Again. He had one when I was away on my placement earlier this year. My wonderful parents took care of him then. Now he's got another one, so $115.72 later, he's got two week's worth of antibiotics and a week's worth of anti- inflamatory stuff to get him well again. This means I have the privilege of
giving a cat a pill twice a day for two weeks. Yippy skippy. :P I'll just be relieved when he's all better.
I've also had more opportunity to hang out with a few of my young cousins in the past few weeks. Last weekend I hung out with my 11 year old cousin (who feels more like a niece because of her age!) at my parents' place. We sewed most of the day, making matching sleep pants out of fabric my mom bought when we were in VT for my brother's wedding. My cousin loved the fabric, and we had a great time together! She's such a great kid.
Then this weekend, I'm going to another cousin's 11th birthday party! I still need to figure out what to get him. He's growing so tall, too! That kid gets taller every time I see him, I swear. :) This weekend is his "adult" birthday party where all his grown-up friends are invited, and last weekend was the "kid" party when all of his peers came over. Not bad, two parties. :)
Well, that's it for this update. Miss you all! ((HUG))
