Adventures in La Capital.

Monday, May 26, 2008
It looks like it's time for my monthly blog entry!

I spent a week in my beloved Capital this month. I got to see many fantastic friends, see a fantastic concert, and eat lots of fantastic food. It really didn't feel like a vacation, though - it felt like coming home. Moving through the city, whether by car, bus, or my own two feet, felt more right than it does where I'm living now. And I've lived here much longer. Heck, I've lived in Freddy Beach longer than I've lived anywhere else, and it's never felt like home. But La Capital really does. So knowing that I'm moving back there (that, and the fact that I have some amazing friends here in FB) makes being here much more manageable. :)

The fact that the entire trip felt like being at home is probably why I didn't take even one picture. It was my city, my home, I knew it all already. Mind you, that probably shows I'm taking it too much for granted. ;) And had I known they were going to allow full use of cameras at The Cure concert, I would have definitely brought mine! The pictures some people were taking were amazing! But the few pics I snapped with my meagre phone camera were pretty sad.

I am also now single. The wonderful man that I've been with for just over a year and I have parted ways, in a way, for now. I just found the whole long-distance relationship thing too impossible. I know we'll be in the same city in the future, and I would really like to try again, if he'll have me. But that can't really be decided until a later date.

I guess that's it for now. For all the folks I saw, I'm so glad we got to spend time together! For all the folks I missed, I'll see you all when I move back.

PS I was about to add a 'vacation' tag for this blog entry, but I go on vacation so rarely I decided not to bother. ;)

I had no idea you were still maintaining this blog! I'm sorry to hear about you and your guy, but I totally understand the long distance issue. Once you move back to Ottawa I'm sure you'll be able to rekindle :-)

But dude, you need RSS :-P
